Welcome!  Thank you for visiting our new website.  On behalf of the board, come on in.  Explore our new site and stay a bit.

ISM—Chicago, Inc. is a non-profit organization, it has been our goal to maintain the highest level of excellence to the procurement and supply management professionals in the Midwest to continue leadership in Ethics, Professionalism, Education, Research, and Networking.  Our chapter has membership meetings where we discuss topics relevant to today's professionals and networking opportunities.  We'd love to see you on-line or in person!

ISM—Chicago offers certification courses for professionals to earn Certified Professional in Supply Management® (CPSM®) and Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity® (CPSD™).  These courses help attendees prepare to pass each section of the exam.  Each certification broadens your competencies in supply management.

June - Chicago Business Barometer

The Chicago Business Barometer increased 12.0 points to 47.4 in June.  This is the first monthly rise after six consecutive monthly falls, making this month's reading the highest since November 2023.

All five subcomponents rose with New Orders leading the improvement, follow by Order Backlogs, Production, Employment and Supplier Delivers. 

New Orders increased by 16.9 points, after three consecutive months of decline.  Production expanded 11.0 points bringing it to the highest since December 2023. 

June special question asked: "When are you planning to make your next (major) capital investments for growth?"  While 35.5% do not know, 25.8% expect next year, with 22.6% responded with plan for the balance of this year.

Notice is given that the Institute for Supply Management, Inc. (ISM) Annual Membership Meeting will be held on September 5, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. PDT at the Archer Hotel Napa in Napa, CA, USA. At any meeting of the members, every eligible member may vote either in person or by proxy. Each such proxy should be files electronically with the Secretary before or at the time of the meeting.
